Speaker's Series
Rediscover Fish Creek Provincial Park
Speaker's Series Presentations are held on the third floor of the Fish Creek Public Library; an elevator is available for those needing assistance. Special thanks to Lisa Ryan, Customer Service Manager at the Fish Creek Library for providing this facility. This new location will accommodate 60 audience members comfortably. The amphitheatre at the Bow Valley Ranch Visitor Centre seats approximately 40 and recent presentations have attracted a large amount of spectators, which filled the amphitheatre to capacity.
It is exciting that our presentations will be now be held in a more suitable facility. Also, because of the interest in the Speaker's Series program, patrons will now be asked to register for each presentation by
contacting Bonnie at the Friends (238-3841 or info@friendsoffishcreek.org). This will enable us to provide the right amount of refreshments. Admission is still free for Friends' members and $2.00 for non-members. Donations are always welcome. Presentations are from 7:00- (approximately) 8:00pm, and it is a good idea to come around 6:45.
The Fish Creek Public Library is located at 11161 Bonaventure Dr. SE, on the east side of South Centre Mall and beside the
Safeway.
Monthly Speaker's Series presentations also act as a way for members to get to together, so come out to these events to talk with other members, and have fun aswell.

Ranch Ramble - Meet at the Bow Valley Ranch
Join the Friends of Fish Creek for a look at Calgary's unique history - all right here in our Park! First Nations bison kill sites, the remains of a building constructed by Calgary's first settler, the site of one of Calgary's oldest, most luxurious historic homes, and the centre of one of Canada's largest urban Provincial Parks. The Bow Valley Ranch area is a treasure trove of local human history. This is an urban hike that will take place outdoors, so please dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes.
